Tawhida Shiropa
Founder, Moner Bondhu
Introducing our next speaker, 𝐓𝐚𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐚, who came up with a start-up idea presently known as “𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐡𝐮,” a mental healthcare and well-being platform in Bangladesh working since 2016 towards SDG 3, 5 and 10 to provide accessible and affordable mental healthcare to all and ensure the gender equality.
With her remarkable thoughts, she is now the CEO of Moner Bondhu.
In 2015, her mother suffered from depression. And going through the journey as a family, Tawhida experienced firsthand the importance of professional mental health care. At the same time, at her then office, she oversaw a supplement that included a confession box. Every day, thousands of people write to her about their mental health struggles. These two experiences revived Tawhida’s ambitions to make a difference. It became her dream to make mental health care and well-being services available to all. In 2016, she had an idea that led to the creation of Moner Bondhu.
Moner Bondhu initiates numerous training sessions, discussions, and youth engagement events to raise, recognize, and respond to psychosocial issues of the general population, such as depression, frustration, addiction, mental illness, cyberbullying, and harassment in social media. Moner Bondhu won the UN Women WEP’s Asia Pacific Award, Call for Nation Championship by the ICT Division held in Bangladesh.
This year, Tawhida Shiropa secured two incredible achievements. One is the 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞, which led Moner Bondhu to invest more than 10 million BDT. Secondly, Moner Bondhu is featured in the 𝐕𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭.
We are honored to have such a social worker as a speaker at TEDxRUET - Discovering Dimensions. So, ensure your seat to hear the exciting story of Tawhida Shiropa and Moner Bondhu from her own perspective live at the TEDxRUET - Discovering Dimensions.
