Syed Rashad Imam Tanmoy β widely known as Tanmoy β is a Bangladeshi cartoonist, comic book artist, and visual storyteller whose work spans political cartoons, comics, and childrenβs literature. For more than a decade, he has contributed to leading national newspapers, focusing on themes of free speech, social justice, and human rights.
In 2016, he founded Cartoon People, a creative community of young visual storytellers nurturing the countryβs growing comics scene. Expanding this vision, he launched Cartoon People Comics in 2022, an independent comics publishing house dedicated to amplifying Bangladeshi stories for global audiences.
His original comic series Rustom Palowan reimagines Bengali fairytale through an adventurous contemporary lens, while his illustrated search-and-find book Where Are the Chonchols celebrates twelve vibrant festivals of Bangladesh.
A World Press Institute Fellow (2015) and IVLP Edward R. Murrow Program Fellow (2014), Tanmoy has led several art-for-change initiatives, including Cartoons for Equality and Girls Do Comics.
