Syed Rashad Imam Tanmoy
Founder of Cartoon People
Syed Rashad Imam Tanmoy, a renowned Bangladeshi cartoonist and
founder of βCartoon Peopleβ, graduated in architecture from the
Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology. He currently works for
one of the nation's English-language dailies, Dhaka Tribune. In addition, he
serves as an assistant editor for the oldest South Asian satirical publication,
"Unmad." He is well-known for his contributions to Roshalo, the Prothom Alo
fun supplement, and the Jaijaidin children's section. He coordinated the first
cartoon section on Bangladeshi television, Shongbad Shondha on Desh TV,
and presented the 18-episode cartoon series Durpath. His work has been
featured in several exhibits, including the Unmad Cartoon Exhibition 2008,
the Right to Health Exhibition by SIDA, and the Anticorruption Exhibition by
Transparency International Bangladesh. He has achieved several awards
including the Editor's Pick List Award from Himal Southasian, a Special Nomination Award from SIDA, and a Special Mention Award from Transparency International Bangladesh. He is known for his bold artistic style, impactful storytelling, and encouraging young artists.
